Sessions
Sessions for individual and couples therapy are 50 minutes long (unless otherwise arranged), beginning at the appointment time. Our first session or two will involve an evaluation of your needs and a discussion of treatment options. You should evaluate the information you receive from me and assess your comfort level. If either you or I believe that you would be better assisted by working with another psychologist or therapist, I will offer you referrals.

Fees
My standard fee is $150 for a 50 minute session. Payment is expected at each session and may be made by check, cash, or credit card. I will provide you with a receipt that includes all information your insurance company should require to reimburse you.

Back to school transition tips

Your children may be dreading the first day of school and you may be looking forward to the fall routine, so here are some tips to help.

  • Prepare for the return to school (e.g., school supply shopping, planning carpool, planning extracurricular activities).
  • Take care of doctors’ appointments (physicals, dentist, etc.) prior to the return to school when kids’ schedules are more flexible.
  • Enforce an early bedtime and early wake up time at least two weeks before classes begin to allow bodies’ internal clocks to adjust.
  • Make time to squeeze in any last weekends at the coast, camping outside, having a BBQ or other summer traditions!
  • Create a summer scrapbook of memories and involve the kids!
  • Create a family schedule and calendar to keep track of everyone’s activities.
  • Create a list of chores for each family member so this is in place before the return to the rat race
  • Enjoy this transition—expect some adjustments but this is just the next season for all of us!
